honestly, would you be troubled if this site ceased to exist?.
I love it but there are others to go to that serve similar purpose. Once we all got there they would be just as good as this one.
Frankly, the board software running this site is horrid. The Jehovah's Witnesses Recovery site is a much better forum, design and software-wise. More people here, though.

only went so that i could say to my parents that i had gone and to remind myself why i left.. oh my word!!!
it was sooooo painful.. got there a bit late - it was a couple of minutes into the talk.
OT: I just LOVE how the Internet has connected all of us on this sphere (not a circle), even on opposite sides. Sun still shining here!

Thank God my parents are reasonable people. They feel they're too old to DA themselves (all their friends are Dubs) but know all about my situation and are supportive of it. I'm sorry for those of you with judgmental Dub parents.

This is our first time to not attend the Memorial and even though I know it is the right thing to do, the indoctrination is still working overtime causing me to feel guity for it.
I don't know what's literal and what's metaphor at this point but it is nice to know that if my wife and I decide to partake that we can do it at any time.
How important is it to strictly buy the "right" bread and wine, do you all think? If it's a symbol and it is prayed over, then does it really matter?

i'll be moving across country in a few weeks and i want to get a different perspective on this religion.
so i'm playing the theocratic warfare card, rather than let them know i was once a witness and now disfellowshipped, i'll just pretend to be interested and maybe accept a bible study..lol.
I'm with Jeff. No harm done.
That said, it is a colossal waste of time if the motive is to find out how much they've changed. They haven't, at least not at the Bible Study level.

my oh my.. i haven't posted in the last few days... nor read the forum.. this last week i was back east visiting friends in the troof.. lucky for me it was assembly time, so packing and going to.
natick assembly hall (boston, ma), and caught the sunday.

per a "top secret, confidential, burn this after you read it" letter to all boes, dated march 2, 2010, but not read in our congregation until this past week:.
new "kingdom ministry" school for all elders and ministerial servants, to be held (in the us anyway) between november 2010 and january 2011.. 6 hours of jaw dropping tedium instruction for ms, 9 for elders.
ms session to be held on a sunday, elders on friday and saturday.. the "super secret surprise", for elders only: a new textbook will be released to be studied at this "school".
I will be shocked if the old books aren't asked to be turned in.
